Itinerary
Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your
guide and transferred to your hotel in Amman. After checking in and freshening up, embark on a
light Amman city tour to get your first glimpse of Jordan’s vibrant capital. Start at Citadel Hill,
a historic site perched on one of Amman’s seven hills, offering panoramic views of the city and
housing remnants from Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad
periods. Continue to the Roman Theatre, a remarkable
2nd-century structure that can accommodate thousands of
spectators, still used for cultural events today. End the
tour with a leisurely stroll along Rainbow Street, where
you can enjoy the local cafés, boutique shops, and lively
street life. This first day provides a gentle introduction to
Jordan’s culture and urban energy. Dinner will be served
at the hotel or a local restaurant, followed by overnight
stay in Amman.
After breakfast, drive north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy.
Walk along the colonnaded streets, explore the Oval Plaza, visit the majestic temples of Zeus
and Artemis, and admire the Roman theatres that once hosted gladiatorial games and
performances. Continue to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century fortress built to defend the region from
Crusaders, offering breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley.
Next, experience the Ajloun Forest Adventure, an
engaging outdoor activity set in the lush green hills of
northern Jordan. Depending on group preference, you
may hike through shaded forest trails, enjoy zip-lining
or rope courses, and observe local wildlife, including
foxes, birds, and wild plants unique to the region. The
adventure combines nature, activity, and scenic
landscapes, offering an immersive experience in
Jordan’s northern forests. Return to Amman in the
evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, head to Madaba, famously known as the “City of Mosaics,” home to intricate
Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, including
the 6th-century Holy Land map, a valuable
historical depiction of the region. Continue to
Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have
viewed the Promised Land. Take in sweeping
views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea,
and even glimpses of the West Bank on a clear
day.
Afterward, drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest
point on earth, where you can float effortlessly
in its mineral-rich waters or indulge in a
rejuvenating mud bath. Enjoy the unique natural phenomenon of the buoyant waters and the
mineral-rich mud that is known for its therapeutic properties. Overnight at a Dead Sea hotel, with
time to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities.
Drive to Wadi Mujeb, often called the “Grand Canyon of Jordan,” for an adventurous hike.
Trail Description: The Siq Trail in Wadi Mujeb is a
moderately challenging canyon trail that winds through
narrow gorges, past waterfalls, and natural pools. Hikers
will encounter sections requiring rock scrambling,
wading through shallow water, and navigating
uneven terrain, making it ideal for those seeking
adventure and close contact with nature. The hike
typically takes 2–3 hours, depending on pace and stops
for photos or exploring the pools.
After completing the hike, continue to Petra and check in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight
stay in Petra, preparing for two days of exploration in the ancient Nabatean city.
Today is dedicated to exploring Petra via the main entrance. Begin your journey through the
Siq, a narrow winding gorge that opens dramatically onto the Treasury, Petra’s most iconic
monument. Continue along the Street of Facades,
passing tombs and carved structures, and ascend to the
Royal Tombs, marveling at their intricate architecture.
Hike further to the Monastery, one of Petra’s largest
and most breathtaking sites, offering panoramic views
of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Optional: In the evening, experience Petra by Night, a
magical stroll along candlelit pathways, culminating
with a view of the Treasury illuminated by hundreds of
flickering lights. Overnight in Petra.
Enjoy a second visit to Petra via the back trail, such as the Al-Khubtha Trail or High Place of
Sacrifice, which offers fewer crowds and elevated views of the archaeological site. The hike
takes approximately 2–3 hours and provides a
more adventurous perspective of Petra’s
monumental architecture and surrounding
landscapes.
Afterwards, visit Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a
quieter Nabatean site featuring smaller rock-cut
dwellings and temples. Continue to Wadi Rum, the
desert of Lawrence of Arabia. Enjoy a sunset jeep
tour across towering sandstone cliffs and sand
dunes. End the day with the Um Fruth Rock
Bridge hike, a moderately challenging walk to a natural rock bridge offering stunning panoramic
desert views. Dinner and overnight in a traditional desert camp under the stars.
Morning is free for optional walking or short hikes
in Wadi Rum, exploring dramatic rock formations,
sand dunes, and Bedouin camps. Learn about local
Bedouin culture, their lifestyle, and the desert’s
unique ecology.
Later, drive to Aqaba, Jordan’s Red Sea resort city.
Free time to relax on the beach, swim, or take part in
optional snorkeling or diving to explore vibrant coral reefs. Overnight in Aqaba.
Drive north along scenic routes, Dana Nature Reserve, Jordan’s largest nature reserve.
Trail Description: The Dana Village to Wadi
Dana Trail is a moderate hike that descends
through terraced landscapes, canyons, and cliffs.
Walking involves dirt paths, rocky steps, and
occasional stone terraces. Along the trail, spot
wildlife such as ibex, eagles, and foxes while
enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the
surrounding valley. Typical duration: 2–4 hours,
depending on stops. Overnight in Dana lodge.
Depart Dana and visit Shobak Castle, a Crusader fortress perched atop a hill offering dramatic
views of the surrounding landscape. Continue to
Kerak Castle, one of the largest and most
impressive Crusader strongholds, featuring
massive walls, towers, and extensive underground
passages. Explore the architecture and learn about
the region’s medieval history. After sightseeing,
drive back to Amman for a farewell dinner
celebrating your journey through Jordan. Overnight in Amman.
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure. Bid farewell
to Jordan, taking home memories of ancient cities, desert landscapes, spectacular hikes, and
unique cultural experiences.
